Starring
Kani Kusruti-starrer Eyes, which is streaming on Sony LIV from 9 October 2026, is helmed by Manu Ashokan, who made his film debut with the moving acid-attack survivor-centric Uyare.
The Uyare Team Returns
Eyes marks the director's return after Kaanekkaane, another collaboration with screenwriting duo Bobby and Sanjay (with whom he also worked on Uyare). Kaanekkaane skipped its theatrical release to directly land on Sony LIV as an intimate drama starring Suraj Venjaramoodu and Tovino Thomas back in 2021.
Bobby and Sanjay have also written other acclaimed Malayalam thrillers like Traffic and Mumbai Police. And Ashokan's direction is restrained (never shouts but you always pay attention to what it has to say). Eyes appears to have that rare quality that would have us biting our nails till the credits roll.
Kani Kusruti in Uniform
Award-winning Kusruti (she was the mother in Girls Will Be Girls [also released in 2024]) dazzled in the 2024 Cannes-winning All We Imagine as Light (Grand Prix winner). She played a woman who (appropriately) speaks volumes by saying the bare minimum.
Similarly restrained but infinitely intriguing characters are what Kani seems to be drawn towards. Cop Tina Sebastian, who probes a string of worrying stalking cases involving women in Sony LIV's new procedural Eyes, sounds like yet another feather in her already overflowing cap.

Seven Episodes on Sony LIV
Eyes is a Sony LIV streaming original (other recent Malayalam additions have included Jai Mahendran and The Chronicles of the 4.5 Gang, among others). It is streaming seven episodes of a crime drama centred around a cop. Alongside mental health experts, she tries to understand the psychology of stalkers to figure out signs that could help identify such tendencies at an early stage.
What to Expect
It's refreshing that this time the focus is on stopping the crime from even happening. That is an aspect often given the short shrift in crime shows that are more interested in nailing the culprit than anything else. In many ways, then, it also helps that Eyes has a largely women-centric lead cast, and deals with cases that involve them.
The crime drama also promises plenty of meat on its bone by virtue of delving into the nitty-gritty of clinical psychology, which should appeal to crime drama buffs.
The Malayalam show has a three-word tagline, "Watch, Protect, Defend".
Official Trailer

Sony LIV dropped a shorter clip of the series on 9 October 2026.
Who It's For
Anyone who loves their crime dramas slow-burn and dialogue-centric should stream Eyes. For its marketing, Sony LIV is prominently pushing director Manu Ashokan's name (aptly so) alongside screenwriters Bobby and Sanjay. The story is by Anjana Nayar. Producer T. R. Shamsudheen (through his banner DreamKatcher), music composer Ranjin Raj and cinematographer Gautham Shankar round up the list of Eyes' other key contributors.
More About Eyes Cast
The show also stars Nikhila Vimal (Malayalam comedy Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil) and Shruti Ramachandran (Dear Comrade with Vijay Deverakonda, Ashokan's aforementioned Kaanekkaane). There is Dev Mohan (Sufiyum Sujatayum, Shaakuntalam [as Dushyanta opposite Samantha]) and Saniya Iyappan (has made a name with Malayalam titles like Lucifer and Queen), among others. Anagha (seen earlier in a leading role in Telugu in Guna 369) is also a part of the show's cast.
Parvathy Krishna, Arjun Nandhakumar, Athira Patel, Bhagath Manuel, Anand Manmadhan and Ajit Koshy feature in supporting roles in the crime procedural.
Streaming on Sony LIV
Eyes streams from 9 October 2026, only on Sony LIV. There's no theatrical release planned.
Eyes is streaming only on Sony LIV. Watch it in its original Malayalam version for the best experience. There are dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu too. Looking for another Indian crime show to stream this month? Check out Shaque: Trust No One, a Hindi crime thriller streaming on Netflix.
